Only two Spanish teams, one from CEU-UCH and one from Navarra University, are among the final twelve selected from over eighty campaigns presented by universities from all over Europe.

Sandra Llop, María Dómine, África Tamarit and Marta Gil, all in their fourth year of the degree, presented their campaign “Enough is enough” for the international competition run by the European Foundation for Commercial Communications Education (EFCCE). Out of eighty campaigns presented by students from all over Europe, this team, named “Dotted Line”, is among the twelve finalists competing for first place. Only one other Spanish team from Navarra University is among the final twelve selected for the last leg of the competition, which CEU-UCH won the first year it took place.

The aim of this year’s campaign is to raise awareness, particularly in young people, about alcohol abuse. It is hoped that a social campaign might help to reduce the excess consumption of alcohol. The forty-six judges have selected two Belgian teams, two German teams, two Romanian teams as well as our two Spanish teams, and one team from Austria, the UK, Holland and Bulgaria.

The final in Lisbon

On 24th April, we will know which three teams and campaigns are the award-winners. They will be able to present their work in Lisbon, where the anual EFCCE conference takes place alongside the final of the competition. Of the three finalists, the winner will have the opportunity to present their campaign in the European Effies and to assist at the Cannes film festival.

The EFCCE was created in 2007 to establish relations between European agencies and universities, and to set up an international forum for the improvement of training in advertising. Belonging to the EFCCE  and being an active partner allows CEU Cardenal Herrera University to be heavily involved in decision-making and advertising research in Europe, such as running this European competition for undergraduates. CEU-UCH was host to the first anual meeting of the EFCCE which was celebrated in the Colomina Palace in September 2008. It is an active member of this European organisation, and its students participate in the competition every year.
