Our Language Service has organized an intensive course during the month of August to help those international students starting their degree at University CEU Cardenal Herrera.

Many of the international students that start their studies at CEU UCH in September decide to come during the summer holidays in order to improve their Spanish skills prior to the start of the academic year. For this reason, our Language Service organizes every summer an intensive Spanish course addressed to international students, in which they combine language classes with some cultural activities that will help them better integrate in their new environment.

These classes and outings have made it possible for students to improve their Spanish skills and also to have a better understanding of our culture and traditions before they start their studies. Coming from France, Sweden, Norway, Iceland, The Netherlands, United Kingdom and the United States (among others), the number of participating students adds up to 80 in Valencia and 15 in Elche.

Language and culture

Students have participated in a wide range of activities, including a bike tour around Valencia, a visit to the city’s aquarium, the central market – so they get familiar with our local products, sports activities at the beach – including volleyball, a treasure hunt, a cooking session, a movie session…all of them organized to make them practice their Spanish and to get familiar with our culture and traditions. International students  at CEU UCH have combined these activities with Spanish lessons from July 25th to August 19th. A well balanced mix of activities specifically designed by a team of teachers from our Language Service: Ana, Loli, Noelia and Daniel in Valencia, and Alejandra in Elche.
