Eight students of the of the Master’s course of Product Design of the Technical School of Design, Architecture and Engineering have exhibited their works in this fair, which is considered the world’s biggest design event.

176 exhibitors from 36 countries have participated in the fair of “I Saloni, Salone del Mobile di Milano”.

Eight students of the Master’s course of Product Design of University CEU Cardenal Herrera have exhibited their projects in the most important international design event: the Milan’s Furniture Fair, which took place from 14th until 19th of April in the capital of Lombardy. The University CEU Cardenal Herrera was the only Spanish Design School taking part in this fair, in which 176 exhibitors from 36 countries participated.

The students of University CEU Cardenal Herrera Aitor Plágaro, Darío Noriega, Verónica Cano, Rubén Huerta, Sandra Taboada, Cristina Hernández, Nuria Feliciano and Marta Ferrer exhibited two projects in Milan. Those projects combine different elements of design which the students have worked on during their master’s course. Under the name “Trend my home“, they have presented designs for kitchen utensils such as: trays, candleholders, coat-hooks, kitchen containers, mirrors, vases, flowerpots and breakfast sets.

For the second project, called “Cut the light”, the eight students of the Master’s course of Product Design of University CEU Cardenal Herrera presented their design drafts for lighting such as wall applications, desk lamps and hanging lamps.

The only Spanish Design School taking part in Milan

“I Saloni, Salone del Mobile di Milano”, is the most important design fair and an international event which attracts in increasing number of designers, brands, journalists, experts, distributors and interested visitors from year to year. Therefore, this opportunity is especially interesting for the students of the Master’s course Product Design at the University CEU Cardenal Herrera. For the coordinator of this master’s course, Professor Sara Barquero,”the participation of the Design School of University CEU Cardenal Herrera as the only Spanish school which has the opportunity to exhibit the students’ projects in the most important international design fair, proves the high standard of quality of the projects which are presented by our students.”

The Design School of University CEU Cardenal Herrera has been training Valencian designers for over 25 years, being a pioneer in this field at the national level. Apart from the Degree of Engineering of Industry Design and Product Development, the school offers a wide range of postgraduate degrees. Besides the master’s course of Product Design, which is the master’s course the eight students exhibiting in the fair in Milan are in, the University CEU Cardenal Herrera also offers the Master’s courses of Interior Design, of Design and Graphic Communication and – in collaboration with AITEX, a master’s course of Fashion and Design Management and Operating.
