{"id":110837,"date":"2017-03-03T09:26:18","date_gmt":"2017-03-03T08:26:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/medios.uchceu.es\/actualidad-ceu\/?p=110837"},"modified":"2023-03-21T12:09:59","modified_gmt":"2023-03-21T11:09:59","slug":"professor-gonzalo-rubio-publishes-his-latest-study-in-journal-of-banking-and-finance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/medios.uchceu.es\/actualidad-ceu\/professor-gonzalo-rubio-publishes-his-latest-study-in-journal-of-banking-and-finance\/","title":{"rendered":"Professor Gonzalo Rubio publishes his latest study in Journal of Banking and Finance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>He is currently participating in two new projects with funding from the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness and the Bank of Spain Research Projects in Macroeconomics, Finance and Banking.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-96883\" src=\"https:\/\/medios.uchceu.es\/actualidad-ceu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2013\/06\/FOTO-GONZALO-RUBIO1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"4272\" height=\"2848\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uchceu.es\/directorio\/gonzalo-rubio\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Gonzalo Rubio Irigoyen<\/a>, <strong>Professor of Economics and Finance at University CEU Cardenal Herrera<\/strong> in <strong>Elche<\/strong>, has published the article \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/pii\/S0378426616302175?\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The joint cross-sectional variation of equity returns and volatilities<\/a>\u201d in the <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.journals.elsevier.com\/journal-of-banking-and-finance\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Journal of Banking and Finance<\/a><\/em>. His research, done in collaboration with <strong>Ana Gonz\u00e1lez-Urteaga<\/strong> from the Public University of Navarra, discusses the apparent segmentation that exists between market volatility and profitability and how the risk and profitability are determined according to the investor.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Currently Professor Gonzalo Rubio is participating in two research projects. The project titled \u201cIdentification and Prediction of Systemic Shocks: an Analysis of the Macroeconomic Determinants of Financial Risks and its Implications\u201d is funded by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bde.es\/investigador\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bank of Spain Research Projects in Macroeconomics, Finance and Banking<\/a> for the period 2016-2017. And, the project \u201cRelations between Asset Prices and Macroeconomic Variables: Implications for Corporate Finance\u201d receives funding from the Ministry of Economics and Competitiveness (Ref ECO2015-67035-P) for the period 2016-2018.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">In addition, Professor Gonzalo Rubio has recently published the article \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/pii\/S147738801530236X\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Teaching quality and academic research<\/a>\u201d in another journal, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/journal\/international-review-of-economics-education\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>International Review of Economics Education<\/em><\/a>. This study has been conducted in collaboration with Professor <strong>Rosa Rodr\u00edguez<\/strong> from Charles III University of Madrid, and the research was on the students of this institution.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify\">Research career<\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Since joining CEU UCH in 2007, <strong>Professor of Economics and Finance Gonzalo Rubio Irigoyen<\/strong> has received as external research funding more than one million euros through the project of excellence <strong>PROMETEO<\/strong> and <strong>various I+D+i projects<\/strong>, financed by the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness. During the last years he has published <strong>research articles<\/strong> in prominent scientific publications in the field of economics and finance, such as <em>Journal of Financial Economics<\/em>, <em>Journal of Empirical Finance<\/em>, <em>Journal of Banking and Finance<\/em>, <em>Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis<\/em>, <em>International Review of Economic<\/em>s and Fina<em>nce,<\/em> and<em> Review of Finance<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">During his <strong>long research career<\/strong> Gonzalo Rubio has been the principal researcher in <strong>more than a dozen external competitive projects<\/strong>, as well as other local and private ones.
